Through our latest blogs, we have made a journey through the elements, we explored the stability of Earth, the flow of Water, the transformative power of Fire, and the freedom of Air. Now, we have reached the mother of all elements: Ether. Ether represents space and emptiness, from that vast space of emptiness there are infinite possibilities to create the life we want to live. Let’s dive into the power of Ether.

Quietness and Chaos

3 years ago I was writing in our blog: Living in The Netherlands and Nicaragua, the best of both worlds?  that I was curious how I would look back to this period in 3 years. That I had no idea if the pandemic would be eventually something good or bad for Eden. Now, 3 years later, I look back to a challenging, yet transformative period. With no guests for a year, Eden was quiet. When there is quietness there is also chaos. For me it was chaos in the mind filled with uncertainty. This is why it’s difficult for a lot of people to sit in silence and meditate. It can be hard to deal with our own mind. But we have a choice, a choice of consciously filling the space. And this is exactly what we did, we created a more beautiful Eden, we improved our retreats, we planned our lives with twins on the way.. Suddenly there was space for endless possibilities.

Finding Space in Stillness

To create space we must pause. Sometimes life situations force us to stop through illness, loss of a job, or the death of a loved one. This is usually a wake up call to focus on the things that truly matter. At these moments, people are willing to change, because to continue like this is no longer an option. Why should we wait for moments like this? Let’s proactively carve out these moments in our daily lives.

Crafting Moments of Pause

You might have noticed that you get inspired when you are in a new environment. Traveling often brings new ideas and inspiration by breaking our daily routines. It allows us to reflect: Are we on the right track? Are we the person we aspire to be? Our retreats are designed to provide tools for such reflection. During the pandemic, Remy and I created our personal life book, mapping out our aspirations in every life category. We wrote down what kind of parents we wanted to be, what kind of partner we wanted to be, how to live healthy, what Eden’s vision would be etc. This life book still serves us today and we revisit and rewrite it regularly.

The Power of Meditation

Even in our daily routines, moments of pause are extremely valuable. During our meditation there are moments of quietness. From that place of quietness, we can create. “Everything’s in the mind. That is where it all starts. Knowing what you want is the first step towards getting it”. – Mae West. When you know, you can practice envisioning it. Every day there is a chance to practice envisioning how your perfect day would look like and tap into the infinite possibilities within that space.

Ether on the Mat

In our bodies, Ether is balanced when we’ve processed all of our experiences. The practice of yoga helps us with that. Yoga raises body awareness, helping us identify tension and release it, creating inner space. Even a few moments of deep breathing can connect you to your inner space. Through mindful movement and breath, we learn to navigate resistance and cultivate a sense of openness. Which helps us to be open to all life has to offer.

Discover Your Impact on the World

created by dji camera

We are all interconnected. Our clothes, food, and homes all started with an idea, a seed, and a hand’s work. The element Ether connects us all. When we break ourselves down to the smallest particles, we’re all the same. Feel the space and energy around you. Every action impacts something or someone. What effect do you want to have on the world? How can you hold space for others, allowing them to shine and be their true selves?

Discover the power of Ether at our yoga retreat center, where space and stillness open doors to endless possibilities and transformations. Join us to explore, create, and connect in the vast space of Ether. Book here
